I feel the relationship with my couples is the recipe to put them at ease and achieve great natural photography, when the relationship already exists it is so lovely to work with couples and families that I already know... I left feeling that love is real and love exists and that I have possibly the best job I could ever wish for.

My job is to capture memories, but most importantly it is to document you how you are at this moment as a family.  Children grow and change at a rate we cannot keep up with, but how precious and priceless are these every day 'little' things.  

Before a wedding day I always want to have a few nerves in my stomach and not ever be ashamed to be so emotionally involved in someone's day that a moment makes me cry or even sometimes sob, because I feel the emotion and that is what I capture with my camera.  If I ever stopped feeling the emotion perhaps I would stop seeing it and I just never want that to happen.

Last Weekend, I met with Nicola and Nick at Slaters Country Inn in Newcastle Under Lyme, their wedding will take place here in just a little over 3 weeks time.  It was a bright and beautiful (chilly) day, and we had a bit of a giggle. Both Nicola and Nick expressed that they dislike having their photo taken and were a little apprehensive to begin with, however I promised them that after the first few minutes of us working together on this, we would find a way to make them feel at ease with the camera. 

I love getting the opportunity to photograph couple shoots and weddings in Berkhamsted and it gives me a great opportunity to see family and catch up with friends, the people that I miss the most when I feel a little bit home sick.

Today I met Helen and Duncan for their couples shoot/pre wedding shoot...I am looking forward to April, my busiest month this year, one month that is going to make it an incredible year!  Helen and Duncan, here is your sneak preview!

We first met Helen a few years ago at ones of Joes University friend’s wedding. I was amazed at the quality, style and emotion that each picture showed. When Joe and I got engaged and started the process of planning our wedding my first thought was having Helen as our photographer, but as the wedding we met her was in Warwick, we assumed that Helen would be based too far away. We were so happy and surprised to find that she was based in Lichfield, just down the road!

This particular time is tiring, beautiful, exhausting, miraculous, a learning curve, instinctive and precious.  I am so glad I was able to photograph this wonderful family today; just as they start the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

I love it when I turn up to photograph a wedding and I bump into one of my couples from a previous year.  I photographed Kate & Paul's wedding back in 2013...

Thank you for making me so excited about 2016 that I could burst.  It's going to be crazy in all sorts of ways and I cannot wait to begin the journey of this year, I am going to be blessed with some more incredible clients this year, it's a great year for getting married.
