In the third trimester of pregnancy, a family can capture the excitement of expecting a new baby with a maternity photoshoot. These photos can preserve the memories of this special time in their lives.

Ruby the cockapoo was keen to show me her new baby sister! I wanted to capture the bond that was forming between them, but I also needed to ensure Ruby was comfortable and at ease during the shoot. As I watched Rubywatching over Molly, it was clear that she was curious yet gentle, and I knew I had captured a beautiful moment of the growing family.

You know that as a photographer I should be ashamed to admit that I fell into the category of person who has only a few images of herself with her own child when he was small.  I try to pass my 'hindsight' on to others so that they may not make the same mistake. 

Maternity photography and portraiture in Staffordshire, Shropshire, Hertfordshire and all over the UK.  Sharon and Eddie have spent the last five years building their careers and making a home. So I can't think of a better place to start with the 'bump' shoot than their back garden, which will surely be a place their child will  explore, play and learn as they grow up.  

My job is to capture memories, but most importantly it is to document you how you are at this moment as a family.  Children grow and change at a rate we cannot keep up with, but how precious and priceless are these every day 'little' things.  

I know that by now both Leigh and Sarah are used to me and my camera, so the session was really relaxed and Elliot especially loved being in front of the camera, so much so I think he tried to steal the limelight a little bit.  What a beautiful family, I love capturing these moments, each one a new chapter

This particular time is tiring, beautiful, exhausting, miraculous, a learning curve, instinctive and precious.  I am so glad I was able to photograph this wonderful family today; just as they start the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
